THE SECRET OF KELLS is a visually stunning piece of animated cinema which submerges the audience into the intricate and mostly hand-drawn fantasy world of Celtic mythology.
As the monks fortify the monastery walls against the Viking Hordes, 12-year old Brendan is initiated into the art of illumination, awakening his hidden, but extraordinary talents of illustration. In order to finish the magnificent “Book of Kells”, Brendan must overcome his deepest fears on a secret quest that will take him for the first time ever, beyond the monastery walls into the enchanted forest where dangerous mythical creatures hide.
But with the terrifying Vikings closing in, will Brendan succeed in his quest to illuminate the darkness and prove that enlightenment is the best fortification against the barbarians? All will be revealed when the illuminated animation of THE SECRET OF KELLS shines its light on the 35mm cinema in March.
