Tony Award-nominated writer/director Conor McPherson brings his dramatic powers to the screen in a highly original horror/love story hybrid. Ciarán Hinds (“Munich,” “There Will Be Blood”) plays a widower living in an Irish seaside town who is struggling to adjust to his new role as the sole caretaker of his two children. When he volunteers at a local literary festival, his life converges with the female author of supernatural fiction and a self-obsessed novelist played by Aidan Quinn. The love triangle engenders passion and rage, and Hind’s character finds himself increasingly haunted by apparitions too vivid to be mere nightmares.
THE ECLIPSE features stellar performances which garnered the top acting prize at the Tribeca Film Festival. Embellished by the supernatural, it’s a fascinating film about the challenges of love and the fear of the unknown.
